This is one of two backgrounds I did back in January where I based them off the "Wicked" story. What a great musical! I read the book thereafter. Elphaba and Glinda shared a room together at Shiz University and I thought that might be fun to do.
I did some thumbnails and ended up going with something like the last one.
Then I changed the sketch quite a bit from the thumbnail. I am taking Armand Serrano's class now and I now know the importance of thumbnails. Oh the headache I would have saved myself if only I had figured everything out in the thumbnail! I also ended up making the values much darker for a different mood. This too required a lot of tweaking that I might have avoided. Power to the thumbnails! :)
